Quercus Suber Contest 2025

The 2025 Quercus Suber Contest, hosted by Provence Model Forest, seeks innovative and sustainable projects related to cork oak forests. Open to individuals, associations, companies, and public bodies, the contest fosters collaboration and promotes the biodiversity and economic vitality of these forest ecosystems. Projects may focus on environmental protection, improved forest management, climate adaptation, or fostering local economic development.

Key Dates:

• Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2024.
• Results will be announced in early 2025.

Selection Criteria:

1. Environmental Impact: Projects must demonstrate potential to enhance or preserve the forest's biodiversity, address climate change, or reduce ecological footprints. The integration of sustainable forest management practices will be a major factor in the evaluation process.
2. Innovation: Judges will prioritize creative and forward-thinking approaches to the problems facing cork oak forests, whether in terms of forest management, adaptation to climate conditions, or conservation.
3. Social and Economic Benefits: Projects should contribute positively to local communities. Judges will consider the capacity to boost the economy, create jobs, and engage local populations.
