Provence Model Forest - General Assembly

The general assembly of the Provence Model Forest will be held on July 7, 2020, from 14:00 to 17:30, in the room du Conseil Municipal de la Mairie du Castellet (France).
The purpose of the assembly is to plan the activities to be carried out in 2020 and to expose to its members the results obtained in 2019 thanks to innovative forestry actions implemented on the Provence massifs, communication carried out on a regional scale and international cooperation.
To conclude the meeting, the following will also take place:
- the SOUTH Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region with the "1 million trees planted by 2021" program;
- the Union Régionale des Communes Forestières, on the enhancement of the Aleppo pine;
- the Mixed Trade Union of the Massif des Maures, on the organization of the ecological transition contract.

“Informa Madera” - news from the wood value chain!

The Cesefor Foundation, partner of the Mediterranean Network, has recently activated a new thematic newsletter, focused on topics related to the entire wood value chain. From now on, subscribers to the Indforma newsletter by Cesefor, will periodically receive the "Informa Madera" newsletter which will collect some of the main news related to the wood value chain, such as the development of the wood market, good industry practices, projects that deal with the topic, sustainable architecture and much more.
This thematic bulletin was created with the aim of fostering participation and collaboration between all actors, encouraging the forestry sector to develop its own technology and evolve to be competitive internationally.

EU’s Common Agricultural Policy

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is one of the oldest policies in the EU. After more than a decade of food shortages and hunger after the Second World War, it was introduced in 1962 to increase agricultural production, guarantee food safety, protect the quality of life of farmers and stabilize markets while maintaining reasonable prices for consumers. Every seven years, the CAP is renewed; the new one must be introduced in 2021 and will face new challenges to align with sustainability objectives, protect biodiversity and the environment.
