Incredible project - Untapping the potential of non-wood forest products for Europe's green economy

 ‍

Non-wood forest products (NWFP) such as truffles, mushrooms, wild nuts, aromatic plants or cork and resin are an often untapped source of nature-based solutions for Europe’s green economy. They can provide the basis for rural economic activities and offer important sustainable alternatives to fossil-based products. Yet realising their potential to contribute to EU Green Deal objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals requires joint action at European level.

The INCREDIBLE Policy Forum, taking place on 2 and 3 February 2021 in weabinar format, will discuss the actions needed to position NWFP as a pillar of Europe's bioeconomy. The Forum is addressed to EU, national, regional and local policy makers and key stakeholders in NWFP value chains (associations of forest owners, producers and processors, consumer organisations, industries, NGOs, public institutions, etc.).

Programme and registration details will follow soon.

LIFE 2020 Call for Proposals from NGOs on the European Green Deal (NGO4GD)

 ‍

The European Green Deal is the EU growth strategy that aims to transform the EU into a fair and prosperous society, with a modern, sustainable and competitive economy that leaves no one behind where there are no net emissions of greenhouse gases in 2050 and where economic growth is decoupled from resource use.

In the framework of the LIFE Programme, the LIFE 2020 Call for Proposals from NGOs on the European Green Deal (NGO4GD) is launched to reinforce the capacity of NGOs acting at Member States’ level to mobilise and strengthen civil society participation and contribution to the implementation of the European Green Deal.
