Impact Workshop #02 (online)

The second CityZen Impact WorkshopInclusive governance to foster Urban Farming. Dealing with land and space scarcity in cities” will be held online on April 19 (9.45 am - 1.15 pm CET) and April 20 (9.50 am - 1 pm CET), 2021.

On Day 1, deals with bridging the gap between decision-makers and bottom-up demands in Urban Farming and have practical cases on inclusive governance and multi-stakeholder engagement.

On Day 2 deals with land and space scarcity in cities and how vertical hydroponics, rooftop greenhouses and aquaponic technologies can boost efficiency in urban food production.

The event have guest speakers from Spain, The Netherlands, UK, Portugal and Greece as well as from DG AGRI, ERIAFF and MMFN networks.

First LIFE SySTEMiC stakeholder meeting at the European level

The LIFE SySTEMiC’s objective is to support stability and connectivity of forests in changing climates, and their adaptability to future environments. Its principal aim is to use a combination of advanced landscape genomics, applied genetics, modelling, and silvicultural methods resulting in an innovative Genetic Biodiversity and Silvicultural model (GenBioSilvi) to be used as a tool for sustainable forest management in the changing climate.

The project organized the first event to meet stakeholders, to be held on April 23, 2021 from 10.00 till 12.00 CET. This event have the ojective to share information about the project and ask input to identify sites for replicability and transferability of the forest structure-landscape genomics in the chosen European forest types (EFT) for eight forest tree species.

Survey FAO about Ecosystem Restoration

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration is launching a global online survey “Taking Stock of Global Capacity for Ecosystems Restoration” to identify what and whose capacities need to be enhanced to achieve the goals of the Decade. This survey was jointly developed by a coalition of 38 organizations, under FAO’s leadership.
All stakeholders involved in restoration are welcome to participate to this assessment. The survey is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic and Russian. It will take you about 15 minutes to fill.
The survey will remain open till 15 April 2021.
