MedForum 2017

The MedForum 2017, entitled “Restoring Mediterranean Landscapes” taking place March 21-23 in Agadir (Morocco).

The Organizer of this event was the MMFN Secretariat, with support from the Mediterranean Forest Week's Organizing Committee and the IMFN Secretariat; the Cesefor Foundation has acts in its double role as MMFN Secretariat and member of the MFW’s Organizing Committee.

The MedForum was consist of technical sessions, the MMFN General Assembly and a field trip organised by the Mediterranean Forest Week’s Organising Committee.

The Technical session “Restoring Mediterranean Landscapes” aimed to identify a common framework for landscape restoration in the MMFN.

The goals of the event was:

• to review the MMFN’s state of affairs and to share Mediterranean Model Forests’ perspectives for the next two years, as a way of supporting the improvement of sustainable forest management in the Mediterranean
• to stimulate reflection and discussion on the way forward in the implementation of effective forest and landscape restoration in the Mediterranean basin
• to draw together representatives of like-mandated organizations and initiatives to catalyse opportunities for networking and collaboration

To facilitate understanding of all participants, all sessions was take place in English.
