On 18 and 19 October, Forêt Modèle de Provence, with the support of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network, successfully organised its 9th edition of the Week-end du Chêne-Liège, featuring a local produce and craft market, exhibitions, conferences and numerous forest-related activities. The event, held at the Domaine de Baudouvin in La Valette-du-Var in the south of France, attracted just over 2,500 people to a 3-hectare estate, with 55 exhibitors and a dozen activities.
Nicolas Plazanet, organiser and creator of the event, said, "It is a source of pride to see this wonderful event continue. It is important to restore the cork oak to the collective imagination in order to enable this industry to recover, and communicating about it is essential. It is a gamble we took very early on, and thanks to all the partners and exhibitors who have been loyal to us since day one. In 2026, we will celebrate, with great emotion, the 10th edition, which will probably take place on 17 and 18 October. Our dream through these projects, the Art Competition, the magazine and the Cork Oak Portal is to enable the industry to recover economically".
