In Provence for the ten-year anniversary of the French Model Forest

Last week in Carnoules, France, took place the General Assembly of the Forêt Modèle de Provence. It was a special one because it also celebrated 10 years as a Model Forest in the Mediterranean and International Network!

It was a very participating and interactive assembly and the occasion to gather all the institutions, members, stakeholders and friends that are in some way involved in the Model Forest activities and share with them the results of the last year of efforts in sustainable management and promotion of the territory.

In Naples for the DigiMedFor project KOM

On June 19 and 20 in Naples took place the kick of meeting (KOM) of a new H2020 project that involved the Secretariat and some of the Model Forest of the Mediterranean Network.

 

The DigiMedFor project is on a mission to enhance how we monitor and manage forests. Using cutting-edge digital solutions, it will improve sustainability in wood production and make certain ecosystem services are delivered efficiently. By combining geo-spatial, AI, and modeling technologies with ICT, the project aims to take forest management to the next level.

Project SINTETIC kicks off in Solsona

Is kick off meeting time for the Model Forests of the Network. On June 7 and 8 the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest flew to Solsona (Spain) to join the starting event of the SINTETIC project funded by the EU within the H2020 programme.


SINTETIC is a ground-breaking project aimed at delivering a comprehensive data management scheme for the whole EU forest value chain. With a total budget of almost €9 million and 21 partners from across the European Union coordinated by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC).

Survey on Green Forest Jobs

FOREST EUROPE is conducting research to identify novel Green Forest Jobs in different countries of the pan-European region. The aim of the survey is to collect information on the potential that the forest sector has to provide good and innovative employment opportunities aligned with socio-economic benefits.
What are Green Forest Jobs? These are forest-related jobs that “... provide forest-related goods and services while meeting the requirements of sustainable forest management and decent work.
