SAVE THE DATE | International Workshop “Model Forests and their Importance in Changing Climate Conditions”

The International workshop “Model Forests and their Importance in Changing Climate Conditions” will be held on 15 and 16 October 2020 in the Lower Morava Biosphere Reserve (Czech Republic)

The propose of this event is an introduction of scientific and professional value of Model Forests for sustainable forest and landscapes managements in changing climate. Workshop will create a space for discussion about the strategies for the work of Model Forests. Model Forests around the world work on sustainable principle that is an important factor in fight against negative impacts of climate changes.

Workshop is intended for the participants with interest in the Model Forest concept in the Czech Republic and abroad as well as foreign professionals with motivation to create the Model Forest in their own country, where the concept is not adopted yet.

Workshop will bring together the Model Forests representatives with motivation to creating of Central European Model Forest Network.  The event will provide a space for exchanges of experience, knowledge and scientific and research results among the European Model Forests representatives, researchers, foresters and others professionals connected to forest and landscapes management.

The secretariat of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network has already confirmed his presence.

As one of the goals of the Workshop is the exchange of good practices and for this reason, on the second day, an excursion to a site selected by Model Forest Czech Republic is planned, through which it will be possible to demonstrate practical sustainable forest, landscape management and adaptation measures to climate changes.

The workshop is free for all registered participants, however registration is mandatory.
