ONEForest: the proposal has successfully passed the first evaluation stage

The MMFN Secretariat supports ONEForest: a Research Innovation Action project proposal, submitted by the University of Rosenheim on the H2020 Call for proposals, dedicated to Sustainable wood value chains (LC-RUR-11-2019-2020). We are happy to announce that the proposal has successfully passed the first evaluation stage and so, the partners have been invited to draft and submit a full project Application.

Proposals under this call shall aim at enhancing the adaptation of forest ecosystems (both primary and secondary) and forest production systems to the growing societal demands for forest products (i.e. wood and non-wood) and ecosystem services, considering trade-offs, climate change and vulnerability to natural disturbances (e.g. storms, droughts, pathogens, wild fires). Restoration of degraded ecosystems and natural expansion of forests, considering the long-term rural development, climate change mitigation objectives and biodiversity enhancement are also in the scope.

ONEForest shall encompass a varied range of forest and site types and tailored forest management systems representative of Europe's biogeographic regions and cover multiple parts of the production cycle and related operations, from regeneration/planting to harvesting. The MMFN Secretariat confirms its endorsement to ONEForest and wish to bring the Model Forest sites and their large expertise available to this future project.

We cross the fingers for the second stage!
