The Mediterranean Network continues to grow, welcoming the first Greek Model Forest

 ‍

Few days ago Western Macedonia Model Forest received the confirmation of the formal acceptance as a full member of the IMFN.


The acceptance of the WMMF is the result of the completion of a joint review of the strategic plan, on-site consultations by the IMFN and the MMFN Secretariats, and above all the diligent work and commitment of local stakeholders.

ONEforest Final Conference Convenes EU Forestry Networks in a Milestone Event
On April 18-19, the Mediterranean Model Forest Network will participate to the ONEforest project Final Conference, titled "INNOVAForONE: Innovations in Forestry and Synergies between EU Networks." This landmark event, organised by Cesefor, will be held in Valladolid (Spain) and online, providing a unique occasion to bring together diverse European forestry networks.

 

During the two days event the MMFN will also have the occasion to gather some of the Model Forests of the Network for a side event dedicated to Forest and Landscape Restoration projects.

"Young reporters from the Ifrane Model Forest" competition: Cultivate Creativity and Environmental Awareness!

 ‍

The Ifrane Model Forest launches the second edition of its program for middle and high school students in Ifrane. The competition aims to strengthen young people's environmental journalism skills and raise awareness of the importance of forest preservation.

 

The main theme for this year is: "Problems and Challenges of the Ifrane National Park Forest: Initiatives and Solutions for Sustainable Territorial Management."

The finalists of the Quercus Suber Contest 2024

The Provence Model Forest annual call for woodturners and designers, the Quercus Suber Competition, which began at the end of 2016, is now at the 2024 edition, and it's an opportunity for amateurs and professionals alike to shine.

 

The competition highlights the innovative use of cork oak, typical of the southern region. It aims to enhance this natural material through the creation of art and design pieces.
