MEDfOR Project borned in 2012, already supported by the MMFN in the last call, is a two-year world-class International Master Programme on the field of Forestry and sustainability. This international Master degree bring together the best expertise, human resources and facilities to educate the next generation of leaders in forestry, natural resources, environmental challenges and public and private land management throughout the Mediterranean region.

The MMFN Secretariat supports ONEForest: a Research Innovation Action project proposal, submitted by the University of Rosenheim on the H2020 Call for proposals, dedicated to Sustainable wood value chains (LC-RUR-11-2019-2020). We are happy to announce that the proposal has successfully passed the first evaluation stage and so, the partners have been invited to draft and submit a full project Application.
Da dieci anni la Regione Castilla y Leon (Spagna), avvalendosi anche del contributo della Fondazione CESEFOR, si è occupata della gestione della segreteria del MMFN. Nel 2020 c’è stato un passaggio d’incarico ed il Segretariato del Network Mediterraneo è adesso ospitato dalla Regione Toscana (Italia) che lo gestisce insieme ai Comuni dell'Unione Valdarno e Valdisieve. Questo incarico è un riconoscimento per la Regione Toscana che per prima in Italia ha favorito la nascita di una Foresta Modello (Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest).

In the last Executive Council of the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest, held on 20 March 2020, it was decided to entrust the role of manager of the "FMMF il legno" brand to the partner BlueBiloba, an innovative startup and spin off of the University of Florence.

The European FOREST-IN project (www.forest-in.eu), funded by the Erasmus + program, which started in 2016, ended at the end of 2019. The partnership consisted of 7 partners, including Forêt Model de Provence, from 3 countries (France, Spain, Portugal). The project was born from the common need, of the various countries involved, to have a predominance of fragmented private forest properties in very small areas and mainly under the management of owners without technical training.

Thanks to public funding from the "Mutualiser Exploitation forestiére et DFCI" project carried out between 2017 and 2019, a fire road network was built in the south of the Provence region (Alps-French Riviera; France).
In order to educate on the benefits of Forest Pedagogy and present examples of Good Practices from neighboring countries, the River Mirna Basin Model Forest held several lessons for teachers from some Croatian schools, starting with the Buzet Elementary School and Višnjan Elementary School.
